LEGENDS Player Profile : Chris Phillips
The club are delighted to announce that former Newbridge Legend Chris ‘Kipper’ Phillips has agreed to play in the Newbridge v Pontypool Legends match at the Welfare Ground on 27th December, KO 2.30pm.
The nephew of former Newbridge great Ken Broder, ‘Kipper’ made a fantastic 364 appearances for the club between 1979 and 1989 scoring a record 150 tries!
The flying left wing played in some memorable matches during this period, and who can ever forget his trademark mazy runs beating player after player.
Born in 1959, Chris has kept himself fit by mountain biking and is looking forward to donning his boots again for this memorial match.
We wish Chris all the very best and we will again look forward to those mazy trademark runs!
