Newbridge 10 v Pontypool 25

In a dress rehearsal for our second round Konica Minolta Cup tie, the boys went down 25-10 to our old rivals and league leaders Pontypool. The win kept their 100 per cent record intact with seven wins from seven.

Nathan Preece grabbed a brace of tries for Pooler while Darren Pearce also crossed. Stewart Lawrence was successful with two conversions and two penalties.

Our captain Rhys Bowen ran in our consolation try, with Sam Walcott landing a penalty and a conversion.
