Bargoed 28 v Newbridge 08

A disappointing day Saturday saw our boys lose 28-8 against our near neighbours Bargoed. Fingers crossed for an improved performance this Saturday when we travel to Llantrisant.

Other results for the day saw Blackwood beat Llantrisant 26-18, Beddau got back to winning ways beating Fleur De Lys (15-36) and Caerphilly won away at Rumney (12-28).

Pontypool still remain top after a convincing win at Newport Saracens (12-57) while UWIC and Llanharan shared the points with a 22-22 draw.

Newbridge are currently in 7th position on 11 points.

What’s the latest news on Gavin (Ashman), I heard he dislocated his shoulder? – sounded nasty!

The latest I heard is that he is out for 9 weeks. Could be a big opportunity for Scott Bessant former Bargoed O/H who has been training recently. It will be interesting to see how he goes tonight.
