Four penalties by Gavin Ashman saw us record a narrow win over our rivals Newport Saracens.

In the other games of the day, Pontypool remained top after a comfortable 20-0 win over UWIC while the performance of the day must go to our neighbours Blackwood who defeated last seasons champions Beddau (20-27).

In the other games, Caerphilly defeated Fleur De Lys 29-0, Rumney pipped Llanharan 15-17 and Llantristant recorded their first win of the season beating Bargoed (26-24).
